The Cartoonist's Self-Portrait Timeline
So, I might be a little obsessed with cartoonists' self-portraits. It probably has something to do with my own lack of artistic competence. (Those who can't do, blog?) So when Jess Fink, Kate Beaton, and Carly Monardo posted their self-portrait timelines, it got my little heart pumping. It's fascinating to see how the artists' styles have been refined over time. I especially enjoy Fink's explanation of why her style changed and evolved based on jobs she had and what she was trying to accomplish.
